I've decided [Aug. 3rd, 2008|10:19 pm]
Chris B
[Current Mood |hopeful]

I'm going to return to proper blogging. I've done bits and pieces over the last year or three but nothing concise. Even when I was updating this is was somewhat sporadic.

So, tomorrow or later in the week I'm going to set up a new LJ. This one has existed for awhile and I need a fresh start.

Back to random comic scans, news (mostly entertainment stuff) and well just random thoughts . I'll be keeping my personal nonsense out of it but keeping in my opinions on things.

Some catch up blogs covering the last few years or nonsense and well lots of bits and pieces.

I'll get there eventually. Join me if you want.

Further details as I know them.

Allow me to reintroduce myself. [Jul. 22nd, 2007|11:16 pm]

Hello Livejournal folks. I've lost touch with quite a few of you since my last glut of posts here and others of you still have the misfortune of reading things I've typed elsewhere.

Not really in blog form, mostly via IM....this is my first blog of any kind for quite some time, hence the "reintroduction".

I'm Chris, former student and struggling human. One day I hope to wake up to reality but for the time being I'll continue to sleepwalk through the same old routine.

For the last month I have been working in the Haematology department of my local hospital, a job which although far from ideal and quite boring and irritating at times is shaping up to be quite a step up from my last job which was really rotting my soul.

Currently I have taken somewhat of a break from my main "thing" of writing. Well not really, I've been rping to keep my creative juices flowing and working (very slowly) on my long term project (of which some of the long term readers of this here writings will have seen illustrations from) although you'll be hard pressed to find any evidence of the later. Honestly though I have the first two panels, maybe even first full page written in my head. Not bad for 3/4/5 years.....no?

So how are folks? 30th of October last year was the date of my last entry so I'd maybe put my last LJ visit a month or so afterwards.....any news?

Not blogging much as I don't have much to say. Occasionally I'll post something on myspace, but even then it's never anything amazing.

So Livejournal people....how goes it all?

I'm still waiting for word on my job. Had my medical a week past Thursday (apparently I am physically fit. And that's still hilarious weeks later) and just waiting for disclosure to clear and then for a date for my moving and handling course and any other such bollocks to arrive.

Then I'll not have to sign on again!! Although it's looking like I'll need to sign on on Wednesday again.

Otherwise it's been a bad day. One of those were people ignore you or if they do actually speak to you it's just in such a way that causes either anger or frustration. Family. Enough said really.

Gods, my user pictures are dull. Must sort that out and post more here.

Anyway, how's everyone/thing? Had a quick troll through the back log, but encourage my laziness if you want.

Employment [Oct. 13th, 2006|01:21 pm]

[Current Music |Alice In Chains - Got Me Wrong]

Those of you just watching this have missed the saga of the job hunt. It has been long, dull and a huge downer at times.

I had two job interviews a couple of weeks ago and today I was offered a new post that had opened up because of the first one (same type of position).

Since applying I have really gone off the job, but beggers can't be choosers, so I am waiting for paperwork to come through and then I shall be a hospital operating orderly.

Not where I saw myself nor is it where I can see myself being for a long period of time, but I'll give it a whirl.

Suppose I should get happy or some such now?

Hello.

Nothing much has happened as of late. No job yet, couple of interviews (over qualified for one and not enough experience for the other of course).

That's it.

Things are boring, crap and the same as ever.

Oh and may as well ask here too....anyone on Bebo? A few friends of mine have their web presence over there so I signed up there today so feel free to drop me an add (assuming I know you in real life or through the internets which is 99% likely if you are reading this as otherwise why would you bother?): http://humanpawn.bebo.com

Fuck.

5am I was going to buy Standing tickets for Tenacious D. I didn't thought I'd wait until I knew whether my friends wanted tickets or not.

11am they are sold out

Only seating tickets left (hate seating) and they'll probably be gone by the time I hear back.

*sigh*

So finally got a job interview (29th September) after many millions of applications (well 5 or 6).

At least one (close) friend of mine has one too, I will be suprised if there aren't a couple more.

Let the games begin *hums that funky fight music from Star Trek*

I. Really. Despise. Job. Applications.

I forget which one this is, but it's in the double digits now.

Of course it's completely different type of job from all others so now I need to write a new personal statement, such a tough thing to do at the best of times, writing about yourself, but when it's in an attempt to make yourself look good...fucking nigh impossible.

I'm been drawing a blank all day and only now sitting down, trying to force it (mostly as I need to send it off tonight).

Bloody impossible.

And of course signing on tomorrow...at least that's something to look forward too (I wish).

Fuck Sci-Fi up their fucking arses with a pineapple.

They made the BSG webisodes viewable in the US only.

Praise and worship the kind soul who put it up on Youtube.

This is the way of the day.

Allan Heinberg posted this on his myspace blog.

http://www.freederekwebb.com/pages/index.aspx

Only a few tracks into it, but it's probably the best thing I've heard for a while.

It's strange this year, despite the new Tool album, I've been listening to a mixture of music I wouldn't have before. I've mellowed on my music tastes and been enjoying older stuff too (which I always have, but probably more so as of late).

Anyway, check out the link. Free album and if you ask me (based on the first three tracks) it's worth it.

I just caught the start of the advert for Grey's (Andy, you could have spoiler warning your post!), damm the whole advert thing is still annoying.

Still I have managed to block all of it other than the first shot of the advert (which was probably the most major things).

Living TV are such bastards.

Greek Mythology Personality Test [Aug. 30th, 2006|06:56 pm]
Chris B
Not too bad, although I switch between leadship roles and the role stated on there (although it is bang on if you take my last group activity into consideration).

The Oracle

0% Extroversion, 100% Intuition, 27% Emotiveness, 76% Perceptiveness

Heuristic, detached, and analytical to a fualt, you are most like The Oracle. You are able to tackle any subject with a fine toothed comb, and you possess an ability to pinpoint nuances and shades of meaning that other people do not have and cannot understand. Accomplishment and realization of ideas are, for you, secondary to the rigorous exploration of ideas and questions -- you are, first and foremost, a theorist. You hate authority, convention, tradition, and under no circumstances do you accept a leadership role (although, you will gladly advise leadership when they're going astray, whether they want you to or not). Abstraction and generalities are your interests, details and particulars are usually inconsequential and uninteresting. You excel at language, mathematics and philosophy.

You are typically easy-going and non-confrontational until someone violates one of the very few principles that you deem sacred, at which point you can fly into a rage. Although you possess a much greater understanding of process and systems than the people around you, you are always conscious of the possibility that you've missed something or made a mistake. You don't tend to become attached to particular theories, and will immediately discard mistaken notions once they're revealed to be incorrect (but you don't tolerate iconoclasts who try to discredit validated theories through the use of fallacies and bad data). Despite being outwardly humble, you probably think of yourself as being smarter than most other people. That's because you are. In fact, in your dealings with people your understanding of their motives is so expansive that you know what they're going to say before they say it, and in world affairs, you usually know what is going to take place before it actually does. This ability would make you unbeatable in debates if only you were a little less pensive about your own conclusions, and a little more outgoing.

Famous people like you: Albert Einstein, Charles Darwin, Adam Smith, Thomas Jefferson, John McWhorter, Ramanujan, Marie Curie, Kurt Godel

Stay clear of: Apollo, Icarus, Hermes, Aphrodite

Seek out: Atlas, Prometheus, Daedalus

My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

So they've cancelled SG-1, pretty much days after airing the 200th episode just to completely blow the event for fans of the show.
